The Story Behind the Work

My name is Matthew, and my journey to becoming a painter and handyman started long before Autumn Painting ever existed. I moved to Montana as a kid entering eighth grade, and my family built our log home by hand — piece by piece, from the ground up.

For years we lived without power, running water, or modern conveniences, which meant one thing: if something needed to be done, we had to figure out how to do it ourselves. That upbringing taught me self-reliance, problem-solving, and the value of hard, honest work. Those same lessons are the foundation of the business I run today.

After graduating from high school, I went on to serve 21 years in the military, where I strengthened the discipline, integrity, and attention to detail that I bring into every home I work in. When I returned to Montana, I knew I wanted to build something meaningful — something that served families and homeowners right here in the place that shaped me.

That’s how Autumn Painting & Handyman Services was born.

Today, I help Helena homeowners with painting, repairs, carpentry, seasonal maintenance, and all the practical projects that make life easier. I take pride in doing things the right way — with craftsmanship, clear communication, and respect for your home.
